The BOOST program at Robeson Community College hosted a goal-setting workshop facilitated by Jan Spence.  Jan energized the crowd challenging traditional methods of accomplishing New Year’s resolutions and goals.  She asked all attendees to define their core values and use those values to assist them in setting and achieving “Big Hairy Goals.”

Dare to be different

Renowned speaker Jan Spence will offer a goal-setting workshop on 25 January 2017 in the BB & T room in Building 18.  The workshop, which is sponsored by BOOST, will deal with how goal setting can enable you to reach bigger and better goals.  She will provide inspiring ways in which realistic goal setting  can help you to reach your full potential.  Lunch will be provided, but space is limited and registration is required.  The workshop runs from 11:30 to 13:00.

BOOST is excited to welcome the 7th and final cohort of participants under the BOOST TAACCCT grant.  BOOST staff worked tirelessly to recruit 58 new BOOST participants enabling the grant to exceed it's expected total outcome of 336.  We are looking forward to continuing to serve students and support faculty in the new year.  Congratulations and welcome to the new Spring 2017 cohort and all returning students.

BOOST led efforts to celebrate National Career Development Week using the National Career Development Association’s platform to increase the focus on career development.  Leaders in business, industry, government, and education have recently acknowledged the deficiencies that limited resources and attention to career development has had on our society. “Career development has become the black hole in the paradigm that governs our approach to education.
